WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Public health is the applied science of preventing diseases, promoting health and prolonging life of individuals and society. Our department’s activities in medical education, academic research and community cover a wide range of health issues “from the cradle to the grave”, through close collaboration and partnership with experts and professional organizations in healthcare, welfare, and health policy fields. The main research topics include long-term care of the elderly, life-style related diseases, parenting difficulties and mental health. Our research achievements are not only published in domestic and international academic journals, but also reflected in health strategies at the national level. Recently, our committed staff is deeply involved in post-disaster recovery responses including epidemiological studies.
