The 10th India-Japan Neurosurgical Conference
第10回日本インド脳神経外科会議 を開催します

　この度、第10回日本インド脳神経外科会議（The 10th Indo-Japan Neurosurgical Conference）を、令和８年11月25日にホテルリステル猪苗代を会場として開催することになりました。本会を主催するにあたり、一言ご挨拶を申し上げます。
　本会議は、日本とインドの脳神経外科の交流を深め、相互に情報交換するため、2003年名古屋大学脳神経外科の吉田純教授により第1回が開催されました。以来、おおむね２年ごとに交互に両国で開催されております。途中2020年の新型コロナ禍による中断期間がございましたが、2024年ムンバイ（インド）でAtul Goel会長のもと第9回が再開されました。これを受ける形で、第10回の記念大会を2026年日本側のホストのもと開催することになりました。本会の始まった21世紀初頭の当時から比べますと、四半世紀近い時の流れのなかで、両国の脳神経外科医療の進歩はいうまでもありませんが、両国の脳神経外科を取り巻く環境が大きく変化しております。本会が、両国のお互いの学びを経て、脳神経外科領域の医学・医療の発展の一助となることが期待されます。これまで、本会の開催をきっかけに、両国の脳神経外科医が実際に施設訪問・留学するなど、より深い交流につなげてきた長年の歴史があり、本会の果たす役割は非常に大きいと考えております。ぜひとも、ご参加いただきますとともに、何卒、本会開催の趣旨と意義につきご理解を賜り、ご協力・ご支援をいただきますことをお願い申し上げます。

It is my great pleasure to announce that The 10th Indo-Japan Neurosurgical Conference will be held on November 25, 2026, at Hotel Listel Inawashiro, Fukushima, Japan. As the President of this commemorative meeting, I would like to extend my warm greetings to all colleagues and friends in India.

The Indo-Japan Neurosurgical Conference was first established in 2003 by Professor Jun Yoshida of the Department of Neurosurgery, Nagoya University, with the aim of strengthening academic exchange and friendship between neurosurgeons in Japan and India. Since then, the conference has been held approximately every two years, alternating between the two countries. Although there was an interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the 9th Conference was successfully resumed in Mumbai, India, in 2024 under the presidency of Professor Atul Goel. Following this successful restart, we are honored to host the 10th commemorative meeting in Japan in 2026.

Nearly a quarter of a century has passed since the beginning of this conference. During this time, neurosurgical care, research, education, and technology have advanced remarkably in both Japan and India. At the same time, the environments surrounding neurosurgical practice in our two countries have also changed substantially. In this context, I sincerely hope that this conference will provide an important opportunity for mutual learning, exchange of experience, and further development of neurosurgical science and clinical practice.

Over the years, this meeting has played a significant role not only as an academic forum, but also as a bridge for deeper collaboration between our two countries. It has promoted hospital visits, training opportunities, fellowships, and long-lasting friendships among Japanese and Indian neurosurgeons. I believe that this tradition of close personal and professional exchange is one of the most valuable achievements of the Indo-Japan Neurosurgical Conference.

We warmly welcome the participation of neurosurgeons from India and look forward to fruitful discussions, renewed friendships, and the creation of new collaborations in Fukushima. I would be most grateful for your kind understanding, support, and cooperation in making this 10th Indo-Japan Neurosurgical Conference a meaningful and successful meeting.
