Recruitment
Join us to address essential questions in regeneration! Medical students can join us through MD-PhD program.
Graduate students
We are actively recruiting enthusiastic graduate students.
| Contact deadline | International PhD program | Japanese PhD program |
|---|---|---|
| October admission | End of February | End of April |
| April admission | End of August | Begining of October |
You can also apply to be a research student.
International students can apply for MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation – General Program).
We strongly encourage and support our students in applying for JSPS Research Fellowship (DC1/DC2), which serves not only as financial security but also as a reputable milestone in your scientific career.
Important Notice for Prospective International Students
Prospective international students are required to demonstrate financial sufficiency before enrollment to ensure a stable lifestyle in Japan during their PhD program. If you require financial aid, the MEXT scholarship is typically the primary available option before arrival. Please note that the selection process requires you to contact us more than one year before admission. The standard schedule is as follows:
| Contact Deadline | December |
|---|---|
| Scholarship Application | February |
| Results Announcement | June |
| Entrance Examination | December |
| Admission | April |
The Honjo International Scholarship Foundation is another option that allows you to apply before enrollment; however, it requires conversational Japanese language skills. In this case, you must also contact us at least one year prior to admission.
Postdocs
We also host postdocs through fellowship programs such as JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (Standard) (for international postdocs; contact deadline: end of February for September admission, or end of June for April admission) or JSPS Research Fellowship (PD) (for Japanese postdocs; contact deadline: end of March).
We will provide intensive mentorship for proposal writing to refine the proposal and maximize the possibility of the acceptance.
Please contact us first.
Lab Spectrum
Our Philosophy
We believe truely important science is often dismissed in unsearched area. Taking advantage of a young and small laboratory, we have intense and flat communication. Although hard working is important for a good science, we do not think it should be forced by others, and we respect the members' professional self-management skill.
