The Role of Education and Human Resource Development Division
As a result of the Great Earthquake and nuclear power plant disaster the people of Fukushima have been forced to live with the long-term effects of external and internal radiation exposure.
As for the Fukushima Medical University, in order to respond to the citizens’ radiation-related anxiety, our mission is, from scientific and medical points of view, to carefully observe the situation in Fukushima Prefecture, stay close to the people, and to watch over their future safety and security. Therefore, as part of the Fukushima Global Medical Science Center, the Department of Education and Human Resources Development will be responsible for educating and nurturing human resources such as researchers needed in the implementation of a prefectural health survey conducted by the “Radiation Medicine Prefectural Health Management Center,” early diagnosis performed by the “Advanced Clinical Research Center,” and early treatment in the “Advanced Medical Department.”
