* The Fukushima Prefecture Social Health and Welfare Department is in charge of recruiting for on-demand courses.

Public health nurses play an important role as consultants in regards to residents’ health in general, in both normal times and after disasters, and facilitate cooperation and adjustment within the community among local government authorities, medical institutions, residents, and other stakeholders. The disaster-related health risks or concerns that arise after a disaster can dynamically change. In particular, diabetes and other lifestyle-related diseases and mental health issues have been proved as major risk factors. This project targets various health risks, implementing on-demand courses to improve the risk communication skills of public health nurses. We obtain specific feedback about how the knowledge gained by public health nurses in the ondemand courses is utilized in actual situations, and apply it to improve on-demand course curriculum.
