Introduction |

Department of Health informatics and epidemiology
is a small classroom and have one professor and
one technician.
We are doing the education and the research of
the information science, which is the basis of
society of modern times. We are managing the information
network and computer system of the nursing faculty.
The information revolution started for 20 years
or more by centering on the reservation management
and financial system, etc. Now, IT (information
technology) has been taken even to every corner
of life.
However, informationization in the health care
field has taken a considerable falling behind
compared with other fields. It is from a reason
why a highly developed privacy protection is demanded
of the health information.
As for informationization of the medicine, development
was advanced concurrently with the medical accounting
system.
As a result, an electronic clinical record etc.
has reached the stage of practical use now, too.
However, informationization of nursing is a stage,
which arrives at the beginning.
As for informationization of nursing, the development
in the future is expected very much.
Our classroom develops the education and the research,
which centers on the informationized nursing.

In our research, the collection, the arrangement,
and the use of the health information are subjects.
EBM (Evidence based medicine) is actively talked
about in the world of the medical treatment.
Naturally, the conclusion based on grounds is
requested in the field of nursing.
Now, correct handling of information is needed.
We are making interdisciplinary by which a computer,
health, an epidemiology and statistical study
are integrated. This is called a health information
science.
We are working on developing and the making of
the evaluation index of the health, the medical
treatment, and welfare a database. Of course,
these are one corresponding to the change in the
age.
The homepage is generalized as an information
service leverage concerning the health. The health
education through the homepage and the offer of
the technique, etc. are researched.
In addition, the software development for the
efficiency improvement of the nursing business
is executed.
Moreover, international healthcare information
is assumed to be one about the research theme.
The reason is to connect with making of the administration
and the service offer operating effectiveness

Education |

In the faculty education, we are taking charge
of statistical study and the information science.
Statistical study learns the handling of various
numeric data encountered when nursing is practiced
and the interpretation. This becomes a necessary,
indispensable for practice the nursing based on
grounds fundamental science.
Statistical study is learnt at the first term
of one year.
The information science is learnt in the form
of the maneuver through one year.
In the maneuver, the handling of scientific information
is learnt. It is a method of collecting, arranging,
distinguishing, classifying, analyzing, and expressing
information, which becomes grounds of a scientific
judgment.
Of course, students work positively about the
